End of The Cathedral
After an 85-year career, Yankee Stadium packs it in tonight. Tom Verducci has a wonderful Sports Illustrated essay on the history of the venerable edifice. The New York Post editorial page says goodbye as well (check out the previously-unrevealed bit of trivia connectding Pope visits and Yankee postseason appearances).
