West Coast Fables
Scott Timberg, an old friend of mine -- and former LA Times culture-beat writer -- has a blog of his own, The Misread City. Definitely check it out. From the time when I was a DJ in an Annapolis waterfront bar -- and Scott was a busboy (no joke!) - we've had many lengthy discussions on indie rock and other cultural trends.

Journalism runs through the Timberg line: His dad, Robert, is the author of the rightly-acclaimed The Nightingale's Song, a profile of Naval Academy graduates, John McCain, Robert McFarlane and James Webb; his brother Craig, is a long-time Washington Post foreign correspondent and current education editor.
